Emerging artists are those in the first five years of their career, typically this means an artist who has graduated within the last five years or who has had their first exhibition in the previous five years.

Studio Space

Artists will be offered a two-year placement in a quarter studio space with the option to extend for a further year by application. In the first year, artists will be required to pay $25 per month for their studio and in the second year $63 per month. The fund will cover the remaining rental costs. Artist may apply at the end of the second year for a further year at a cost of $202 per month.

Studios are unfurnished spaces, artists will be responsible for their own personal furnishings. Artists will have access to a shared materials resource. Studio Channel Islands does not own kilns, printing presses or other large equipment.

All outdoor spaces are available for artists to access but must be kept clean and are not available for storage. Trash must be removed from studios to the dumpsters located in the parking lot.

Artists are allowed to hold classes / workshops in their space without any percentage given to the organization. Artist may present work in the Members Gallery at which there is a 60/40 commission.
