The Gallery is available for rentals all day Sunday and Monday and after gallery opening hours which are Tuesday 11 – 3 pm, Wednesday – Friday 11 – 5 pm, Saturday 10 – 3 pm . There are 3,300 square feet of rental space available, including the main gallery, a large stage area , a lawn in front of the entrance and a prep kitchen. The main gallery comfortably seats 250 guests in theater style seating, and 175 in dinner seating, with a total occupancy of 300. All art exhibitions will be left intact for the event, enhancing the ambiance of the room.
Our large parking lot has ample parking for all guests.

Full day rate: 8 hours including setup, event, and breakdown/clean up.
Half day rate: 4 hours including setup, event, and breakdown/clean up.
All events must end by 11:00 p.m.
Friday, Saturday or Holidays:
$2,200 for full day
$1,400 for half day
$1,500 for full day
$1,000 for half day
Monday through Thursday event:
$1,200 for full day
$800 for half day
Additional Fees for all events:
Security deposit of $500
Facility Manager/Security Fee of $25.00 per hour
½ of Event Fee + Security Deposit is due upon execution of this contract by both parties, and the balance is due 14 days prior to said event. Security deposit will be returned after the event if the facility and displayed art work show no sign of damage. Event fee is locked in upon execution of contract by both parties with deposit.
Cancellation: In the event of a cancellation by the User, a 50% refund of the deposit will be issued if cancellation is made in writing at least two months prior to event date and a 20% refund of the deposit if made at least one month prior to event date. Once the final ½ event fee is paid 14 days prior to the event, there will be no refunds.
Conditions of Use:
a. Artwork in Gallery: The Blackboard Gallery at Studio Channel Islands Art Center is an exhibition gallery and reserves the right to change the configuration of the exhibits and entry areas without notice. Studio Channel Islands will act in the best of its ability to keep User informed of all foreseeable changes. User will be responsible for any damage to artwork by event guests, vendors, or contractors hired by User.
b. Care of Facility: User and its agents agree that they shall use the utmost care not to damage or abuse any of the facilities. The User is responsible for any and all damages caused by its vendors and/or guests. Repairs shall be made strictly according to Studio Channel Islands Art Center’s specifications to return the gallery to the condition prior to the event.
c. Cleaning after event: Client or Caterer must stack chairs and take out trash when event is over.
d. No smoking is allowed indoors or within 25 feet of building.
e. Alcohol from a licensed and bonded service is allowed. For public events, a daily liquor license must be obtained from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
f. General liability insurance is required for the day of the event in the amount of $1 million.
g. Open flames and pyrotechnics are not allowed in gallery.
h. Studio Channel Islands Art Center reserves the right to refuse any users.
i. All events must by 11:00 p.m. User will pay a penalty of $100 per hour for any portion of an hour after 11:00 p.m.
