Artists’ Marketplace Includes Demos and Kids’ Activities, Art Studio Tours & Beer Garden
June 1, 9 am to 4 pm
Art demonstrations, interactive family arts and crafts, a scavenger hunt, a beer garden, open artists’ studios, raffles and a silent auction are all part of the Summer Art Market festivities on Saturday, June 1 at the Studio Channel Islands Art Center campus in Camarillo’s Old Town. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission is free.
Visitors can see firsthand how artists create during demonstrations of such techniques as cyanotype photography, encaustic painting, loom weaving, and watercolor painting on silk. Artwork may also be purchased from the more than 40 artists whose work includes jewelry, fabric art, ceramic pieces, metal and bronze sculpture, painting, drawing, photography, printmaking and mixed media. The resident artist studios on the campus are also open to the public that day, as they always are on First Saturdays of the month.
