Every summer, we provide an Art Camp for Children teaching 120 classes over a period of four weeks. Children ages 6 to 14 are instructed by 14 artists in painting, ceramics, print making, mixed media, fiber arts, photography and art history. In addition, we now offer a Theater Immersion program for students from 2nd to 8th grade.
From October 17 through 20, we will offer a 4 day Art Camp for Adults. Participants will be able to choose from half-day workshops in weaving, painting, encaustic, print making and sculpture.
Each workshop will be offered for four consecutive days Thursday through Sunday to provide a full immersion into the chosen medium. Participants may choose one or two 4 hour classes for a half-day or whole day program. In the evenings, we offer art programs to complement your art experience. Full information will be announced soon.
Each year, Studio Channel Islands Art Center selects one student from a Ventura County College for an Award for Excellence in Art Studies. In addition, we provide opportunities for high school seniors and college students to get real life experience in the art world by offering internships. Students learn about organizing gallery exhibitions as well as marketing and promoting events. To apply, please contact the office.
Throughout the year, Studio Channel Islands Art Center offers a series of lectures at the Gallery. Artists Talks accompany the current exhibitions. Artists Talks are free to members and at a minimum cost for the public.
The Artists Studios are open to the public every first Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. In addition, groups are welcome to schedule guided gallery and studio tours. Please contact the office for availability.
Our local schools are invited to schedule field trips which include a guided tour of the gallery and studios as well as hands-on art projects provided by our artists. Please contact the office to schedule a visit.
