At the core of Shannon Celia’s award winning artwork is a deep appreciation and awe of the sea and nature. Finding inspiration in the smallest details such as the front of a ship or the inside of a wave, she strives to capture movement and fleeting moments of light hitting something at just the perfect time in her seascapes.
Shannon has been painting for almost a decade and accepts commissions for boats, vintage cars, homes, churches and schools. She started painting in oil while a student at Pepperdine and began doing home portraits and showing her work extensively, exhibiting often in places such as the Harbor Village Gallery in Ventura, CA, the Thousand Oaks Community Gallery in Newbury Park, CA and at Studio Channel Islands Blackboard Gallery in Camarillo. She has a large solo show every two years and loves painting with a group of close pals in Thousand Oaks called the Monday Morning Painters.
She is a member of the Thousand Oaks Art Association, the Buenaventura Art Association, the Westlake Village Art Guild, Studio Channel Islands Art Center and an associate member of the California Art Club and American Women Artists. Shannon is also the founder of the Pepperdine Alumni Art Showcase, which had its first exhibition in October 2014 on the Malibu, California campus.
