Membership


We invite you to become a member or renew your membership with Studio Channel Islands! We are an exciting and ever growing art center in Southern California, unlike any other. Whether you decide to join as an active artist member, a business member or supporter, we need you. 2013 promises to be an exciting array of activities, events, workshops and classes where members receive either free or reduced fees.

 

General/ Family Membership $50

Your annual membership will support all the art programs at Studio Channel Islands Art Center. You will receive regular updates on exhibits and events. As a member, you receive a 5% discount on Gift Store purchases and discounts on Artist Talks. As a member, you will receive invitations to special events.

Artists $100 per year

Artist Members receive the same benefits as General Members plus a variety of benefits that apply only to artists.

Our Director’s Gallery is reserved exclusively for Artist Members. Submit a proposal for a group or solo show to our Standards Committee to be considered.

In addition, they are eligible to show and sell their work in our Gift Store. The Gift Store is a boutique of original art works from small paintings, matted works, jewelry, wearable art, hand-made leather works and much more. The Gift Store features ONLY Artist Members!

Artist Members receive a discount on each Call for Entries. Studio Channel Islands Art Center has four to six Call for Entries per year. One of them, the Annual Membership Show is reserved for artist members only.

Artist Members may have an individual page and a link on Studio Channel Islands Art Center’s website. There are plenty of opportunities throughout the year where Artist Members can participate in studio events. Artist Members are welcome to offer workshops and classes with Studio Channel Islands. IMPORTANT: We recently restructured our membership fee for artists. We eliminated the distinction between volunteer and non-volunteer levels. We will still ask you occasionally to help with our events. We hope you will enjoy playing an active role in our organization because you believe in our mission and goals – and not because you are obligated to help. We will not ask you to gallery sit. Your membership status will no longer depend on your volunteer hours.

 

Art Students $25

*Students who are currently enrolled at a college or university, may become members at $25 per year and receive full Artist Members benefits.

 

Business Membership $500

Studio Channel Islands Art Center offers businesses an opportunity to showcase and promote their companies on our website and newsletters. As a Business Member, your employees will receive a 20% discount to upgrade to a full  Artist Membership. As an additional benefit, you may use the gallery after hours for one event of your choice, a $500 value. You will also receive a special artists’ gift.

Please fill out this form to join or renew your annual membership subscription. Then select your membership level. Once you hit submit, you will be directed to a PayPal payment form to finish the process. You can use either a credit card, or your PayPal account if you have one. You will be rebilled one year from the day you join or renew.

Charitable Giving to Non-profit Organizations Knowing that you are a part of the dramatic role the arts play in a community’s cultural and economic ecosystems. By supporting the nonprofit arts sector, you are supporting an important economic component: in the rural communities, art venues are essential elements in downtown revitalization, generating an impact (statewide) of $120 million annually. In the larger cities, the arts make an important contribution to urban renewal and development. A statewide survey showed that Californians believe arts contributions to individual health and enrichment is even greater than the role of the arts in the economy…the survey respondents ranked arts impact on quality-of-life in their communities as most important. It is widely known that the arts help build vibrant and healthy communities. Studio Channel Islands’s contributions include helping create a place where people want to live and work… a balanced community that people are proud to call home. Supporting the arts is supporting cultural awareness and understanding, preserving the cultural heritage and making art accessible to all. A corporation providing funding and resources to Studio Channel Islands Art Center could be proud of helping us build capacity, and with assistance from other funders, they would be patrons of the arts for their community. The monies could be used to: – Recognize and encourage non-professional, volunteer activities. -Support cultural activities which reflect the diversity of Ventura County -Stimulate local support, particularly at the grassroots level. -Sustain the professional development of Studio Channel Islands. -Promote artistic and business excellence.

Donations

Studio Channel Islands appreciates donations that help our organization run more smoothly. Office equipment and supplies, art equipment & supplies, art library books, and of course, cash. Put your discards to use where you can see them work!
All patrons who donate $100 and more to Studio Channel Islands Art Center, receive a complimentary membership.
